last year i had the police turn up at my door saying that i had hit a car roof with a claw hammer i didn’t no what they was going on about i did not get arrested and they left, few days later i got a insurance letter thur the post saying that i had collided with a bmw and drove off leaving the seen, there insurance paid him out 5000, i spoke to my insurances and said i don’t no what is going on they asked for pictures off my car i sent them, i phoned the police and asked them they said there is no further action is to be taken as the person as dropped the chargers, so i phoned there insurance and they said we are waiting for police reports, i said the police are not taking it any further as the person as he had dropped the chargers, they did not believe me and wanted me to pay 3500 in 14 days i said no, i lost 3 years no claims and my premiums went up, i just had to wait for months 😦 i got a letter today off there insurance saying we have had the police reports and there is no further action against me or my insurances… ok what will happen to the person what made up this lie to his insurance as he told the police one thing and his insurance another??????"

Me and my husband went bankrupt in NOV 2010 (long story) and basically, the things like car insurance and cable and internet and energy companies were fine as there were no credit checks as we were already with them. But now we have had a car insurance quote from our company to renew in mid-May, and it has gone up from 37 a month to 60 a month. So firstly, I wonder if the bankruptcy may have affected this new quote? And also, if we try and move to another company, will our bad credit caused by the bankruptcy and home repossession make companies refuse us? I don’t see why, as our credit score is irrelevant to our driving, and we have never made a claim in the 20 years of driving, and have many years of no claims bonus. Hi, I wanted to make sure this is legal before I take part in it. So a friend of mine who I have known now for about 15 years wants to get rid of his car because he can no longer afford it. He has about 8k left to pay on the loan for it, and hasn’t driven it in about a month because he let the insurance lapse. To get the car off of his hands, he is offering it to me for free, i’ll just take over the loan. Here’s the thing…my credit is currently rebuilding and I know his bank will probably deny me during the application process. So, I was told by a family friend, that in this case…as long as he has the title in his name (which he does, no liens)…he can sign over the title to me, and i can then insure the car in my name. And, i’ll just make his current payments for him for the loan (which is still in his name) until it’s paid off…..this is legal, correct? I just want to make sure before taking part. Does the loan, title, and insurance HAVE to be in his name? OR does the bank just want to get paid back regardless of who is paying?….thanks for all your answers. Have you received a rebate? I am thinking of changing my auto and home insurance to them. They are not much cheaper than my current provider so I was reluctant to change, especially my home owners as I have heard it is not wise to switch home owners insurance in California.
